Nickel Alloy A-286, Incoloy A-286
Incoloy Alloy A-286 is iron-nickel-chromium based austenitic iron based material that also includes molybdenum and titanium. The alloy is known for its good strength and oxidation resistance especially at temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C). Some of the other important properties of Alloy-A286 include:
- Excellent fabrication characteristics
- High mechanical properties due to age-hardenability
- High ductility in notched sections
- Good creep-rupture strength during extended high-temperature exposure
- Can be produced by AOD reefing or vacuum induction melting
- Good for moderate corrosion applications in aqueous solutions
All of these properties are thanks to Incoloy Alloy A-286’s unique chemical composition which includes:
- Ni 24-27%
- Cr 13.5-16%
- Ti 1.90-2.30%
- Fe balanced
- Al .35%
- V .10-.50
- Si 1% max
- C .8% max
