Iran has increased the export of metal billets

As noted by the Iranian media, the improvement in the international market situation at the end of 2020 and the intensification of consumer demand allowed the national metallurgical companies to dramatically increase their export volumes.
According to the customs service, in the ninth month of the local calendar (November 21 – December 20), Iranian steel exports reached 839 thousand tons, which is more than 30% higher than in the previous month.

Why has steel exports increased in Iran?

The main source of this growth was procurement, sales of which were boosted by new orders from countries such as China, the UAE and Sudan.

In total, in the first nine months of this year according to the Iranian calendar, the volume of steel exports in the country amounted to about 5.6 million tons, which, however, is about 13% less than the same period a year ago. At the same time, 47% of Iranian steel exports in nine months fell on billets and blooms and 27% – on slabs.
