What is Special Steel?

The definition of special steel is not clearly defined internationally, and the calculation classification of special steel in different countries is not the same.

The special steel industry in China covers Japan and Europe.

It includes three types of high-quality carbon steel, alloy steel, and high-alloy steel.

It is generally opened as high-quality carbon steel structural steel, alloy structural steel, carbon tool steel, alloy tool steel, High-speed tool steel, bearing steel, spring steel (carbon spring steel and alloy spring steel), heat-resistant steel and stainless steel.

Because high-temperature alloys and fine alloys are produced in special steel mills, these two alloys are also included in the calculation of special steel teams. In the special steel category, except for high-quality carbon structural steel, carbon tool steel and carbon spring steel, the rest are alloy steels, which account for about 70% of special steels.

At present, there are nearly 2,000 grades of special steel in the world, about 50,000 types and specifications, and hundreds of inspection standards.
